Tummy Tuck | Abdominoplasty | Salt Lake City
If you have a pooching lower tummy with excess fat and skin and would love to restore it to a more youthful contour, then a Tummy Tuck (or abdominoplasty) is a procedure that you may want to consider.
Many times pregnancies, a significant weight loss, prior surgery, or even genetics leaves us with a profile that we just can’t change through diet and exercise. Dr. Rodrigues can help improve your abdominal muscle tone by removing excess fat and skin, and in most cases restore weakened or separated muscles to create an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer.
Am I A Candidate for a Tummy Tuck?
You may be an excellent candidate for a Tummy Tuck procedure if you are in good overall health, do not smoke, do not plan on becoming pregnant in the future, are at a stable weight, and have reasonable expectations for the end result.
The Tummy Tuck procedure is performed under general anesthesia and often last from 2 to 3 hours. Often, patients wish to combine the Tummy Tuck procedure with liposuction to reduce love handles or to remove excess fat from the upper abdomen and thighs.
Dr. Rodrigues will make two incisions, pull the abdominal muscles together and stitch them into place. He will then stretch the skin over the muscles, remove the excess, then closes the incision.
Recovery takes anywhere from two weeks to two months depending on the extent of the surgery. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities within a few weeks, limiting strenuous activities or lifting for at least six weeks.
As part of his patient-centric care, Dr. Rodrigues will be happy to meet with you personally to explore the best treatment options for your desired result.
