Breast Lift | Plastic Surgery | Salt Lake City
Often, a woman’s breasts retain their shape as they age or after childbearing, but simply begin to droop or sag. Other times, heredity plays a big part in the shape of a woman’s breast contours, leaving them not quite as perky as she would like.
A Breast Lift is actually a term that is used to describe several different procedures to provide lift to a woman’s breasts, but they all have the same purpose: to tighten and reshape the breast. A breast lift can range from simply reducing the size of the aerola to reshaping an injured breast, to lifting a breast that droops severely. Dr. Rodrigues will consult with you personally to determine which technique best suits your situation.
Am I A Candidate For A Breast Lift?
If you are in overall good health, do not smoke, and want your breasts to be tighter or reshaped, you may be a good candidate for a Breast Lift procedure. It is also important to have a realistic attitude about the results of a cosmetic procedure.
A Breast Lift is commonly performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Rodrigues will make incisions based on the type of Breast Lift procedure you choose to have. There can be several incisions, or just a few. Either way, Dr.Rodrigues will reposition the breasts to achieve a firmer, fuller appearance. After the breast is lifted, the excess skin is trimmed, sutures and dressings are applied.
You may be sore and experience some tightness across your chest for the first several days. You should be able to return to your normal activities after a week or two. Any resulting swelling, soreness and bruising will diminish over the next several weeks.
As part of his patient-centric care, Dr. Rodrigues will be happy to meet with you personally to explore the best treatment options for your desired result.
